Steps To Rank A Website In The First Page Of Google:

Pictures are a separate Google search channel, the results of which can be seen in the general page for the issuance of a variety of requests: grocery, personal, medical, in short, any that suggest the possibility of illustration. Then the pictures become a special element.

Such results are displayed with the name of the video, its duration, description, download date and, importantly, the name of the user who downloaded it. Therefore, it is better to create a corporate profile on a video hosting rather than post branded videos from a personal account.

In addition, in order to appear as a special element, the videos must be correctly optimized for the request (title, meta description, tags, adequate frame in the preview). And do not forget to add a link to your site in the description. The first page of Google’s listings has long ceased to be a boring list of relevant links. Now this is a canvas of various search elements designed to simplify the user’s work and
complicate the life of the optimizer to make the results page as informative as possible.

SERP features are called not only individual blocks (for example, cards or pictures), but also different icons (for example, AMP lightning or rating stars). All of them can affect CTR and traffic, so it’s very important to keep track of which of the special elements and at what request Google marked your site.

In the Positions tool from SE Ranking, there is a module that allows you to track which special blocks are displayed for requests that are important to you, and whether your site is represented in these blocks. This section displays a fragment of text, which, according to the search engine, most succinctly responds to a request. There is also a title and clickable URL of the page from which the snippet is taken. Information in the block may be accompanied by pictures or videos.

Google Updates:

Previously, you could simultaneously enter the block and be displayed among 10 ordinary results (as in the screenshot above). But in January 2020, Google decided to remove the double link from the issuance. Now the block with the answer is not the zero position, but the first. And one site cannot be displayed twice: either in a block with an answer, or as a regular link.

Link openability in Featured Snippet is higher than other links on the results page, so getting into this block is an important SEO task. Google insists that there is no way to mark the content that we want to see in this block. However, you can indirectly affect the choice of a search engine:

Display the page in the TOP search results, since it is the pages from the top ten that are most often displayed in the answer block.
Formulate simple questions that relate to your product and to which you can give a structured answer.

What is contextual advertising?

Optimize page content for this request. Add a key phrase in the headings and in addition to the extended answer to the question, write down a paragraph that would contain a concise structured answer (54-58 words for the English language, 40-50 for the Russian language). If this is a question like “what is X”, start the paragraph with the definition (“X is …”), to answer a question. For queries involving such instructions, Google displays only headers (h2-h4) in Featured Snippets listing the steps.

Schema.org is a semantic markup database. It can be used to designate different elements of content, which will help search robots better understand their structure and purpose: what item it is about (itemscope), what category it belongs to (itemtype), what properties are described (itemprop), and so on.
In addition to the map and address beacons, a list of one or three results is provided in the block. This list indicates the name of the company, its rating, address, phone number, work schedule and a link to the site.

If you have a local business, you should definitely add it to Google Maps. Firstly, Local Pack attracts targeted traffic, and secondly, even if your site does not go to the top of the search results, but is presented in a block with a map, users can find it already from the first page of the search. In order for users to find your company in the block with a map, do the following:

Sign up for a Google My Business account.

Choose a category (it is better to limit yourself to one) to which your company belongs.
Write a meaningful description of your business.
Be sure to add a link to your site.
Be sure to enter the correct data (phone, address, schedule).
Work on the rating – collect positive reviews about your product / service.

Google News is a separate feed, the results of which can also be displayed in SERP. The block with the main news may look different: with horizontal layout without pictures or in the form of cards with images.

The selection algorithm in this block is very demanding, and only news resources have a chance to appear in it. An e-commerce blog site will not be able to show up there, but online media that publishes unique news content is fine.

This block enriches the usual snippet with additional links to individual sections or pages of the site, allowing the user to find the information he needs from one go. Most often, this special item is displayed by brand or domain request, but Google, by tradition, does not offer clear instructions on how to add such an element to its results.s
